FAQ

Shipping

Where do you ship from?
Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Every order is packed here by hand.

Where do you ship to?
Canada and the United States.

How much is shipping?
Free anywhere in Canada, on every order. To the United States it is a $10 CAD flat rate (shown in USD at checkout), and free on orders of $120 CAD or more. You will see the exact amount before you pay. Nothing is added later.

How long does it take?
Orders are packed within 1 to 2 business days and sent by Canada Post. Inside Canada, my recent parcels to New Brunswick and Quebec arrived 1 to 3 business days after drop-off. Farther away takes longer: Canada Post's own estimate for a regular parcel going across the country is 4 to 10 business days. US orders usually take 6 to 12 business days.

Will I get a tracking number?
Yes. It is emailed to you as soon as the parcel is scanned.

I'm in the US. Will I pay customs or duties?
Possibly. Parcels crossing from Canada into the US can attract duties or fees set by US customs. Those are charged on delivery and are not something I collect or control.

Returns and problems

Can I return it if I don't like it?
Yes. 30 days from delivery, full refund of the purchase price. The watch needs to come back undamaged with the caseback film and any spare links. Trying it on is not "worn."

What if it arrives broken or stops working?
If a watch is faulty on arrival, or stops working on its own within 14 days of delivery, I replace it. Get in touch with your order number and I'll ask for a photo or short video. If the parcel shows up damaged or it's the wrong watch, message me within 7 days of delivery with a photo and I'll replace it or refund you in full, your choice.

Who pays return shipping?
I do, if the watch is faulty, damaged in transit, or the wrong one. You do, if you simply changed your mind.

How do I start a return?
Send me a message through the contact page with your order number. You'll get the return address and instructions back by email, usually within a business day. Please don't ship anything before you hear from me.

The watches

Why does the dial have a different brand name on it?
Because that is who manufactured it. Most of my watches say Poedagar on the dial, and the Coralis says BINBOND. I choose these watches, buy them in small batches, hold them in stock and stand behind them, but I do not make them, and I am not going to grind someone else's name off the dial to pretend that I did.

The plan is to change that. As the shop grows, I intend to move to my own manufactured line with Bartlett 1954 on the dial. I am not there yet. When I am, you will know, because I will say so. In the meantime I would rather tell you up front than have you open the package and wonder.

What's in the package?
The watch, a bracelet sizing tool so you can remove links yourself, and a thank-you card. No presentation case. I'd rather keep that cost out of the price.

Will the bracelet fit my wrist?
The steel bracelets are link-adjustable and come with a sizing tool. Most wrists are handled by removing one to three links, which takes about five minutes.

Are these Swiss watches?
No, and I won't pretend otherwise. They're quartz watches I pick, buy in small batches and stand behind. If a store in this price range tells you its watches are Swiss, be skeptical.

Why is stock so low on some models?
Because the counts are real. I buy in small batches and the number shown is what's physically on the shelf.

What does 1954 mean?

It is the year my father was born. He passed in 2020, and the shop carries his name. There is more about that on the story page.

Still stuck?

Use the contact page. I read every message myself and answer, usually within a business day.
